Holly And Paris Join Forces For Film Project

16th October 2004

Holly Valance has headed to LA where she's become a sorority sister to Paris Hilton - all for the sake of a film. Valance is filming a movie called "Pledge This," with none other than the blonde Hilton heiress. The film, which is to be released in 2005, is also known as National Lampoon's "Pledge This." Not much is known about the flick, other than it is based on sorority girls. Movie website IMDb describes the plot as "a beautiful sorority president takes in a group of unconventional freshman girls, seeking acceptance into her house". Whatever that means. Valance plays Jessica, which is not a major role, nor is Hilton's. It's Valance's first big break since she left London for Los Angeles to focus on her acting career. Before getting this role, she was reportedly close to winning a part on the CSI franchise, but had problems getting a work permit. The last time Valance was seen publicly in Melbourne was at the Australian Grand Prix in March, and since then she has been keeping a very low profile. She was dropped by her record label after poor sales for her critically acclaimed second album "State Of Mind," both in Australia and the UK.

 Holly Turns Down "Nip/Tuck"

6th August 2004

Holly Valance has turned down a raunchy role in a hit TV series because it would have been too hot to handle. The former "Neighbours" actress and pop starlet must have thought her career was picking up after being offered a part in the popular, plastic surgery drama, "Nip/Tuck." Horrified Holly, however, turned down the job after learning her character would be involved in a steamy threesome with Dr Christian Troy, played by fellow Australian, Julian McMahon. The twenty-year-old, doe-eyed, beauty was reportedly shocked by the producers' indecent proposal. "Holly would have loved to appear in Nip/Tuck, but she was not too pleased when she heard what the storyline would be", a friend told British tabloid The Sun. "She was shocked when they wanted her to be involved in a (threesome). She is now in talks about other roles." Unlucky Holly was recently forced to turn down a role in top-rating "CSI" because she could not secure a US work permit in time.

 Har Mar Superstar Collaboration

28th March 2004

Har Mar Superstar has recruited Holly Valance for his second album. The singer has been in and out of the studio working on songs for the record, which should be released this year. He revealed "She's really sexy. Her last album was really good dance music. She’s really fun to be around, to have around the studio. There's two songs she's on "Body Request" and "Back The Camel Up"." Holly also denied rumours she's been dropped by her record label, saying she expects to make another album for them. She told the Sydney Morning Herald: "I would say so, yeah. I mean, so much is happening there at the moment, a lot of things are moving around and changing. I've always had an excellent relationship with the people there. I just feel positive about it, even though internally a lot of people are leaving, new people are coming in. Whether that's going to affect artists that are signed, I'm not sure at this stage. But I'm not worried about that either, because there's always going to be other things. I'm still young, a lot of people have stories to tell from their early days of ups and downs." She also said she'll be spending much of 2004 in America in a bid to make it as an actress there. It follows recent reports the Australian star has left her London home. Valance said: "I was long gone at around Christmas time. I love London, my mates are there, I've lived there for two years, it's been my home. But I don't have to flee anywhere, I'm not a convict. Acting and music are both my loves, but I always want to try to do both. I had already told my management this year the music's going to take a back seat a little bit because I also want to follow my other passion." And speaking about the UK's media, the singer and actress said: "Even if you keep your mouth shut, you've said too much."
 What's Going On?

15th February 2004

It seems that "Desire" has been pulled from the UK release schedules, with reports saying that the track was being remixed, and that it had been delayed, and then that a promo CD was already in circulation. Since then, more reports have circulated that Holly has been dropped from London records, because "State Of Mind" underperformed. Nothing has, however, been officially confirmed. The album has gone platinum in Japan.
