Beyoncé scores her second solo #1 in the official Uk top 75 singles chart this week, as "Déjà Vu" featuring Jay-Z, debuts at the top of the chart, having entered at #21 last week on download sales alone! The second single from the album, "B'Day," which is released on 4th September, will be the Swizz Beats production, "Ring The Alarm" - lyrics to both "Ring The Alarm" and "Déjà Vu" have been added to the revamped lyrics page!

Beyoncé makes her comeback with a brand new solo album, entitled "B'Day" on 4th September 2006 this year (5th September 2006 in the USA and Canada). The album title is an abbreviation of "Birthday" and "Beyoncé Day," as the album's international release date is actually Beyoncé's birthday. The album was a complete surprise to B's father and mananger, Matthew Knowles, as well as her record company, and was recorded in two weeks, having been inspired by the movie she recently shot, "Dreamgirls." The album features collaborations with Jay-Z, Swizz Beats (who produced "Check On It"), Sean Garrett and Rodney Jerkins, who produced the first single, which will be "Déjà Vu."

Destiny's Childs's second live DVD, a concert filmed from one of their "Destiny Fulfilled & Lovin' It" tour dates in Atlanta, is due to be released soon, featuring the full concert, bonus videos and a free audio CD, featuring a solo track from each member. "Let's Stay Together," Michelle's cover of the Al Green classic, which she recorded for the GAP "My Favourite Jeans" campaign is included, alongside a new track from Kelly Rowland, entitled "Flashback," which is likely to be an album track on her second record, and a remix of Beyoncé's #1 hit, "Check On It."

"Check On It" climbs to #3 this week in the official UK top 40 singles chart; the video is due to be added to the iTunes music store for £1.89 soon, sales of which will also count towards the song's chart position.

"Check On It" has debuted in the official UK top 40 singles chart at #4 this week, selling over 20,000 copies in its first week. In America, the single climbs on the Billboard top 40 singles chart to #2, just missing the #1 spot.

Beyoncé's solo track, "Check On It" featuring Slim Thug, taken from "The Pink Panther" movie soundtrack, in which she stars, and the Destiny's Child "#1's" greatest hits album, is out now to buy on 2-track CD in the UK, featuring the album version, and a special no-rap version of the single. A special remix is due to be added to iTunes soon!

"#1's" debuts this week at #6 in the official UK top 40 albums chart, selling very strongly. The album is due to enter at #1 in the USA, ending this chapter of Destiny's Child collectively on a high.

"Stand Up For Love" Release Cancelled

"Stand Up For Love," the lead promotional track for Destiny's Child's hits collection, "#1's," will not be commercially released in the UK as a single; instead the track, which is the 2005 World Children's Day anthem, will be sent to radio and music television purely to promote the album. It is likely that Beyoncé's solo track on the album, "Check On It," which is taken from "The Pink Panther" movie soundtrack, will be released as a commercial single next year.

AOL Music have premiered a brand new Destiny's Child track, to be on their Greatest Hits album, entitled "#1's," to be released 25th October 2005. The track is a ballad, entitled "Stand Up For Love" and is the 2005 World Children's Day Anthem. You can hear the track at AOL music online here!

World Music Awards Winners

As well as performing at the show, Destiny's Child were awarded three World Music Awards, at the ceremony in Monaco recently. Destiny's Child won the awards best-selling pop group, best-selling R&B group and best-selling female group of all time, and the girls were even honoured three times. Newcomers Rihanna, Amerie and Teairra Mari performed a tribute to Destiny's Child, before Patti Labelle paid tribute to them, and then Usher & Babyface invited the girls to join them on stage to be honoured by the two male artists.
Destiny's Child To Play Live 8 USA

Destiny's Child are playing at Live 8 USA in Philadelphia on 2nd July 2005 - one of the many concerts to be happening around the world which will see over 100 artists, a million spectators and 2 billion viewers spreading one message - put an end to poverty.  The concert will be televised on the BBC in the UK at 9pm on the 2nd, going all the way through to the early hours of the 3rd - get more information, and watch the shows live on the web here!
Destiny's Child Officially Split

Destiny's Child have officially confirmed they are splitting up today, with the trio, Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, telling 16,000 fans at a concert in Barcelona they were going to call it a day. "We realised that now is the time to pursue our personal goals and solo efforts in earnest," the chart-toppers said in a statement. The group will tour North America before they split, with their final show in Vancouver on 10th September and have sold over 50million records worldwide. "We've been blessed with success and the greatest fans in the world," the group said. "After a lot of discussion and some deep soul searching, we realised that our current tour has given us the opportunity to leave Destiny's Child on a high note. We are united in our friendship and filled with an overwhelming gratitude for our music, our fans, and each other. We want to thank all of our fans for their incredible love and support and hope to see you all again as we continue fulfilling our destinies." Reports of their split were initially denied by the UK arm of their record company, Sony BMG, but the company have now confirmed it, following the press release.
